Kisah di kota Tarim, ada seorang murid yang sangat cerdas dan pintar tapi durhaka kepada gurunya,

Mari kita simak ceritanya  dalam sebuah kisah yang penuh hikmah,

Alkisah… ada seorang santri yang sedang nyantri di Rubat Tarim  Yaman dan diasuh langsung oleh Habib Abdulloh Assyatiri, dia santri dikenal sangat alim, cerdas dan pintar hingga mampu menghafal Kitab Tuhfatul Muhtaj 4 jilid. Siapa yang tak kenal dia?  santri yang sangat cerdas dan pintar. Semua tau bahwa ia sangat cerdas dan pandai bahkan diprediksi oleh banyak orang sebagai calon Ulama Besar atau seorang Ilmuan Termasyhur.

Nah, Suatu hari disaat Habib Abdulloh mengisi pengajian rutin santri, tiba tiba sang Habib bertanya kepada santri yang lainnya tentang kemanakah santri yang sangat terkenal pandai dan cerdas itu? “Kemana si fulan?” Semua santri bingung dan tidak bisa menjawab pertanyaan sang guru. Ternyata santri yang dimaksud tidak ada di pondok, melainkan keluar berniat mengisi pengajian di kota Mukalla tanpa izin.

Akhirnya Habib Abdulloh As Syatiri yg sangat terkenal Allamah dan Waliyulloh berkata : “baiklah orangnya boleh keluar tanpa izin, tapi ilmunya tetap disini!!!”.

Di kota Mukalla, santri yang sudah terkenal cerdas dan pandai tersebut sudah di nanti-nantikan para pecinta ilmu untuk mengisi pengajian di Masjid Omar Mukalla. Singkat cerita si santri ini pun maju kedepan dan mulai membuka ceramahnya dengan salam dan muqaddimah pendek.

Allohu Akbar !!!

Ternyata, setelah membaca amma ba’du si Santri yang cerdas dan pintar ini tak mampu berkata sama sekali, bahkan kitab paling kecil sekelas Safinah pun tak mampu ia ingat sedikitpun….

Sontak dia tertunduk dan menangis…! Para hadirin pun heran, “Ada apa ini???” akhirnya salah satu Ulama kota Mukalla pun menghapirinya dan bertanya; “Saudara mengapa bisa begini? Apa yang saudara lakukan sebelumnya???

dia menjawab : “aku keluar tanpa izin Habib dari pesantren.” Dia terus menangis, dan beberapa orang menyarankan agar ia meminta maaf kepada Habib gurunya…

Parahnya dia dengan sombong tidak mau meminta maaf…!!!

Kesombongannya ini membuat semua orang menjauhinya, dan tidak ada satupun yang perduli padanya, bahkan hidupnya setelah itu sangat miskin dan terlunta – lunta, dia bertahan hidup dengan menjual daging ikan kering.

Dan disaat ia meninggal, dia mati dalam keadaan miskin bahkan kain kafannya pun tak mampu dibeli dan akhirnya diberi oleh seseorang.

PESAN:

Sayyid Muhammad bin ‘Alawi al-Maliki berkata :

أغضب من الطالب الذی لا یحترم أستاذه ولوکان الأستاذ صاحبه

“Aku murka terhadap penuntut (ilmu) yang tidak menghormati ustadznya, meskipun ustadz tersebut adalah temannya sendiri”.

Imam Nawawi berkata :

ینبغی للمتعلم ان یتواضع لمعلمه ویتأدب معه وإن کان أصغر منه سنا وأقل شھرة ونسبا وصلاحا ؛ لتواضعه یدرک العلم

“Seyogyanya bagi seorang pelajar tawadlu’ (rendah hati) kepada gurunya dan menjaga tata krama ketika bersamanya, meskipun gurunya tersebut lebih muda, tidak begitu terkenal, nasabnya lebih rendah dan (mungkin) keshalehannya kalah dengan muridnya. Dengan tawadlu’ (rendah hati), niscaya ilmu akan ia dapatkan”.

Beliau juga berkata :

عقوق الوالدین تمحوه التوبة وعقوق الأستاذین لا یمحوه شیئ ألبتة

“Dosa durhaka kepada kedua orang tua bisa dihapus dengan bertaubat, sedangkan dosa durhaka kepada guru sedikitpun tidak akan bisa dihapus”

Al-habib ‘Abdullah bin ‘Alawi al-Haddad berkata :

وأضر شیئ علی المرید تغیر قلب الشیخ علیه، ولو اجتمع علی إصلاحه بعد ذلک مشایخ المشرق والمغرب لم یستطیعه إلا أن یرضی عنه شیخه

“Yang paling berbahaya bagi seorang murid adalah berubahnya hati guru kepada muridnya (dari yang semula ridlo menjadi murka).

Andai saja semua guru dari timur dan barat berkumpul untuk memperbaiki keadaan si murid tersebut, maka mereka tidak akan mampu kecuali gurunya tersebut telah ridho kepadanya

Perkataan-perkataan di atas sebagai bahan renungan bagi kita semua yang masih berstatus murid.

Jika kebetulan kita sebagai guru, maka jangan sekali-kali kita berharap untuk dihormati.

Semoga kita semua bisa benar-benar berbakti kepada guru-guru kita dan semoga kita mendapatkan ilmu yang berkah dan bermanfaat baik di dunia maupun di akhirat. Aamiin Yaa Rabbal ‘Aalamiin. (Eliya Masri)
