IMG memang berkomitmen untuk tetap fokus menumbuhkan karakter murid sesuai blueprint Sekolah Insan Mandiri. Jargon sekolah ‘Sayang Teman’ ternyata bukan hanya isapan jempol semata. Semua warga sekolah tahu benar bahwa jargon ini menjadi budaya sekolah. Lihat saja, beberapa kali ucapan akhir lisan guru atau pesan singkat di telepon genggam dari guru selalu ada kata, “Salam Sayang”.

Tentu hal negatif yang tumbuh pada diri anak. Bersyukurlah, di Insan Mandiri Greenvile karakter setiap anak didik menjadi perhatian utama. Sekolah yang berada di dalam Komplek Perumahan Relief Greenville ini menjadi sekolah yang terus diminati karena penumbuhan karakter yang bagus untuk anak. IMG terus meneruskan semangat semua cabang Insan Mandiri yang ada, termasuk budaya yang telah dikembangkan sebelumnya oleh pusat: SDIT Insan Mandiri Jakarta (IMJ).
Insan Mandiri Greenville menyadari bahwa guru mempunyai peranan besar dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai positif pada murid, karena guru adalah role model bagi para murid. Maka, dari itulah mengapa guru memiliki peran yang besar dalam pembentukan karakter murid. Untuk mendukung hal ini, guru Insan Mandiri Greenville terus fokus menumbuhkan karakter yang dimiliki setiap anak didiknya. Inilah hal-hal sederhana yang dilakukan guru IMG untuk menumbuhkan karakter anak didiknya (Berdasarkan riset & observasi Departemen Risbang Sekolah Insan Mandiri).
- Menjadikan guru sebagai contoh (Qudwah Hasanah)
Guru dipandang murid sebagai orang tua yang lebih dewasa, hal ini berarti murid menilai guru mereka merupakan contoh dalam bertindak dan berperilaku. Baik sikap baik maupun buruk, dapat mempengaruhi murid bagaimana cara bersikap dengan teman-temannya atau orang yang lebih dewasa. Hal inilah yang membuat guru IMG harus pandai dalam menjaga sikap untuk memberikan contoh yang terbaik (Qudwah Hasanah). Dengan Qudwah hasanah ini, guru IMG akan lebih berhati-hati dalam bersikap sehingga lebih bijak dari setiap tindakan yang akan diambil. Sebagai pendidik, guru IMG akan menghargai kebaikan sekecil apapun yang dilakukan muridnya. Caranya dengan mengapresiasi usaha murid tanpa selalu membandingkan dengan nilai yang didapatkan. Misalnya dengan memberikan pujian bagi murid yang tepat waktu, tepat waktu ketika sholat, rajin mengerjakan tugas, atau bersikap baik selama di sekolah. Dengan membiasakan ini, murid pun juga dapat mengapresiasi diri atas usaha yang telah dilakukan sehingga akan terbangun karakter yang terus mau belajar dan memperbaiki diri untuk lebih baik. - Guru IMG lebih dari sekedar mengajar ansich, Tetapi juga mengembangkan nilai-nilai islami pada pelajaran yang diajarkannya.
Kalau sekadar materi pelajaran, mungkin semua bisa saja tahu karena tertulis dalam buku pelajaran. Tetapi bagaimana dengan nilai-nilai Islam? Makanya guru-guru IMG dalam pelajaran yang diajarkannya juga menanamkan nilai-nilai Islami (Islamic values) yang bisa dijadikan bahan pelajaran hidup. Misalnya, saat mengajarkan pelajaran Matematika guru IMG tidak hanya sekadar memberikan rumus dan cara pengerjaan kepada murid. Tetapi juga bisa mengajarkan nilai-nilai Islami seperti dengan mengerjakan soal Matematika kita bisa belajar untuk bersabar, berusaha untuk memecahkan suatu masalah dengan mengasah logika berpikir, tetap bersyukur dan yakin kepada Sang Khaliq: ALLAH Swt. Dengan begitu, nantinya ketika murid sedang menghadapi suatu masalah kedepannya, bisa berpikir optimis bahwa setiap masalah ada jalan keluarnya selama berusaha dan berserahdiri kepada Allah swt. - Guru IMG Senantiasa Jujur Pada Diri Sendiri dan Terbuka Pada Kesalahan
Guru juga manusia, tidak luput dari kesalahan meski tidak pernah berniat melakukan hal itu. Nah, di IMG, jika misalnya guru salah mengoreksi jawaban murid. Untuk memberikan contoh yang baik, guru IMG mau mengakui kesalahan yang dibuat sekecil apapun itu. Mungkin kadang ada rasa gengsi, tetapi ini menjadi pelajaran yang baik pada murid. Bahwa sebagai manusia kita harus berani jujur sama diri sendiri dan mau mengakui kesalahan yang telah diperbuat.
