Ibadah itikaf untuk menggapai malam Lailatul Qadar mempunyai keutamaan ibadah yang dilakukan lebih dari 1000 bulan.
Ibadah i’tikaf mencontohkan sunnah Nabi kita shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam.
dalam kitab beliau Bulughul Maram, yaitu hadits no. 699 tentang permasalahan itikaf,
عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ:- أَنَّ اَلنَّبِيَّ – صلى الله عليه وسلم – كَانَ يَعْتَكِفُ اَلْعَشْرَ اَلْأَوَاخِرَ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ, حَتَّى تَوَفَّاهُ اَللَّهُ, ثُمَّ اعْتَكَفَ أَزْوَاجُهُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ – مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ
Dari ‘Aisyah radhiyallahu ‘anha , ia berkata bahwasanya Nabi shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam biasa beri’tikaf di sepuluh hari terakhir dari bulan Ramadhan hingga beliau diwafatkan oleh Allah. Lalu istri-istri beliau beri’tikaf setelah beliau wafat. Muttafaqun ‘alaih. (HR. Bukhari no. 2026 dan Muslim no. 1172).
Keutamaan Itikaf diantaranya :
Setiap Saat Mendapat Pahala
Tujuannya di masjid dalam rangka mendekatkan diri kepada Allah. Saat terjaga, ia mengisi waktunya dengan sholat, tilawah, dzikir, berdoa, bermunajat, tadabbur, tafakkur atau mengkaji ilmu.
Bahkan dalam kondisi tidur pun, orang yang beritikaf mendapatkan pahala yang besarnya tidak bisa didapatkan oleh orang yang tidur di rumahnya. Sebab tidurnya itu termasuk rangkaian i’tikaf.
Sunnah Rasul
Itikaf pada 10 hari terakhir Ramadhan adalah sunnah Rasulullah SAW. Beliau tidak pernah meninggalkannya. Bahkan di Ramadhan terakhir sebelum wafat, Rasulullah beri’tikaf selama 20 hari.
Demikian pula istri beliau dan para sahabat Nabi.
Mereka beritikaf 10 hari terakhir Ramadhan. Bahkan sepeninggal Rasulullah, istri-istri beliau juga beritikaf 10 hari terakhir Ramadhan.
Dapat Lailatul Qadar
Orang yang itikaf 10 hari terakhir Ramadhan, InSya Allah akan mendapatkan lailatul qadar. Bagaimana tidak, menurut hadits – hadits shahih, lailatul qadar turun pada malam ganjil pada sepuluh hari terakhir Ramadhan. Bukankah saat itu orang yang beritikaf sedang beribadah kepada Allah.
Bahkan seandainya orang yang beritikaf itu sedang tidur dan hanya bangun sebentar pada malam lailatul qadar, insya Allah ia tetap mendapat lailatul qadar karena tidurnya merupakan rangkaian itikaf dan berpahala.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي
Artinya: “Ya Allah, sesungguhnya Engkau Maha Pemaaf, dan Engkau suka memberi maaf, maka maafkan aku.”
